I am expecting a minimum of 200k out of it before any big problems

Based on my experience with Chevrolet trucks and Suburbans, that's probably a conservative goal if you maintain your vehicles by the book....unless you consider something like interior trim or power seat components as "big problems".

262,000 and climbing for my 2000 Silverado 2WD, 5.3 V-8.

Previous poster was correct based on my experience with a Chevy. Shouldn't expect to spend much on it until it goes over 200,000.

I only put 12K per year on it and the repairs have been spaced out at about one per year and I drive it in the woods a lot so no reason for me to scratch up a new one right now.

Fuel pump goes out at 200-220K, you can set your watch by it.

Then the A/C compressor and alternator.

At around 250K, you can expect to purchase a new front end if you drive on gravel some; ball joints and hub assembly.

Mine drives like a new one and looks like something you wouldn't mind driving into a thicket, perfect for me.

Stay in your present vehicle if at all possible. You've (mostly) paid for your lack of credit and naïveté. The least times a person can buy another vehicle, the less chance of them getting into a bad deal. Folks who sell cars for a living do it every day. It is doubtful that a person who buys a car once every three of four years will beat them at their game. The least times you have to play the car buying game minimizes your negative exposure.

My $0.02

Good luck.
