You are wrong.
It CAN be the case. But it’s not definitive.
The reason why they change in buoyancy typically has nothing to do with organic breakdown and everything to do with water evaporating from the interior, being replaced by air.
The shell is semi permeable.

As stated in my first post, don’t even waste your time with float test and just crack them in a bowl to see if you smell the sulfur dioxide
