went to detox. It's actually pretty pleasant. They keep you asleep through the worst of it.
Ativan for three days has been rumored to have worked before. Allegedly.

That's probably what they gave me. Three days of sleep and ice cream.

See my earlier post

I used to hate threads on the ot about drinking, because i knew i was a raging alcoholic.

I now post in them, with the hope that if i say one thing that helps one person for even one day, they will be better off they i am.

I should be dead. I got lucky.

I'm quite certain that had NOTHING to do with it.

Good for you bro. I have some really close friends and family that struggle with alcohol, some are recovering, most are not. Alcohol can turn some people into monsters.

Don’t patronize me. Show me exactly where I said anything remotely condescending to you.

Both Xanax or Valium are prescribed for alcohol detox.

Depends, some guys get too far gone. Will shake the rest of your life.

For me it's usually just a day. But def a few sweaty nights after a bender.

Ever smoked weed before? Try it for the days you don't drink.

I'm sure others will disagree, but I'd rather smoke some weed than take pills like xanax.

I stopped smoking cigarettes and don't drink anymore. I do smoke weed often. Also stopped quite a few other scripts.

As it was explained to me in detox, benzos work on the same (or similar) receptors as alcohol so it helps with the detox symptoms. Not sure weed is going to do that.

not saying you are wrong but i’ve never heard of Xanax being used for alcohol detox. Been through two medical detox’s myself and met plenty of others that have as well, Valium, Ativan, and blood pressure meds were always used.

Sounds like you have the Bobby Long shakes. Get to a hospital or a walk in clinic and get some fluids pumped into you...
