I remember playing golf a few years ago and I was singing, making jokes, cracking wise and one of my partners (my dearest friend) had double bogeyed the first two holes. He looked at me and said, "Would you please just shut up?" I said, "You want me to shut up?" and he said yes. So, for the next 16 holes, I did not say a word. If someone said, "Nice shot" to me, I tipped my cap. If someone hit a nice shot, i snapped my fingers like a beatnik in a coffee shop. At one point I intentionally hit into the group ahead of us (knowing I couldn't reach them) and stood on the tee box with my right arm raised holding up 4 fingers in a mock "Fore!" pose - that got a laugh. My silence made the other 3 uncomfortable.
