Dryvit just like sto are brands of stucco

Dryvit was the first in this market and the largest therefore it is generally used for representing EIFS much like Sheetrock (which is United States Gypsum)is universally used in lieu of drywall.

A lot of lenders and insurers will not allow the foam based EIFS on buildings and companies installing it have trouble getting GL coverage.

Most have gone back to using metal lath although it is .5" and 2.5 lb instead of 3/4" and 3.4 lb and requires only two coats in lieu of 3.

Which is another reason it cracks. Cement plaster should be set in three coats over self furring 3.4 galvanized metal lath. First coat is a scratch coat with Portland cement and sand - second coat is a brown coat of Portland cement and sand and finish coat can be elastomeric or white cement and lime.

Expansion or control joints should be installed above and below each side of windows and doors.
