re: How do you handle shared fences when neighbors don’t cooperate?

I replaced 2 sides of mine. I built those 2 sides and the other neighbor (long gone) built the other side so I didn’t want to touch it.

I used the tact to inform the 2 neighbors that the fence would be temporarily down in case they had kids or dogs. One offered to share the cost of the material and the other didn’t make that offer. I did all the labor myself.

The non-offering neighbor must not give a damn since parts of his fence on other sides were leaning over very badly from rotting posts. His wife said she wished he would do something about it.
