In our immediate family I have become skeptical as I've aged and have seen the words of the Pope and the actions of the church, not reflect what we were taught in school.

It's also hard to judge today's Popes having had John Paul II in my formative years.

We either attend mass, I may opt to listen to it on YT and get an early pre dawn walk on Sundays, my kids attend scarcely, and one is researching other religions.

I also notice some parishes shrink, but not sure if that's because people aren't going to mass, and or, because people are moving out of Donaldsonville, Paincourtville, Napoleonville, etc.
