We've got the 12 horse in the 10th at evd. I don't know much about him so I put in a call to the husband.

He is apparently busy ill put a few on him at 6-1, though.

Only place in la running, so yeah

Always have a string at the old evd training center. Hubby will head up with a string to bossier soon. We've got a few nice stakes horses, but mostly a barn full of la breds.

Big difference from running at keeneland last week

Talk about culture shock.

Although the "new" EVD is a big improvement. We always enjoy the visit.

Apparently they put a lot of money into this past down season. I'm excited to see what they've done.

Hell, they added a $300,000 turf sprint. That's big bucks for a non derby prep race.

Old evd had (and still has) much better footing.

Man I've heard that from 3 or 4 industry types like yourself. What gives? Did they not give enough time to the new track to let it settle. We've seen them bring out the green screen ( or was it blue?) at two separate races in the last few years.

It is hard as a rock. Or at least it was last year. Ill have to ask the Canadian if he feels they've improved it any.

Not sure when I'll finally make it back out this year.

They were scraping the rail at fg before big races. It created a stupid inside speed bias and fast times, but that is tough on the horses. The next day during training there would be more breakdowns. Canadian saw one fracture it's shoulder right in front of him

Lots of tracks will iron out the footing to "speed up the track" for big race days. Santa Anita does it for the breeders cup. This year there was a breakdown the week of, a horrible breakdown in a race, and I think 4 other horses (including a winner) got vanned off.

I should stop bitching now. I've already been ranting about Churchill all night to my mom. I blame wine

Vent away. The last breakdown we saw, pretty sure they nuked the horse on the track. Never saw it actually load into the van and we could well see everything. Happened right at the finish line

Hey, I arrived late to this party

Tiger, they are always upsetting to watch, but sometimes it is better for the horse to get put down right away instead of struggling to load on the van.My now horse cracked his shin in his last race at evd. I'm very thankful that it wasn't worse or involving a joint or I wouldn't have him.

And our horse in this race is cute! Just saw him go by. I love grays. Don't think I've met this one.

Such is the life of horse ownership it is always something.

He cracked the shin before I got him, I just had to do the 6 months of hand walking every day.

You are forgetting the actual losing of said mare to colic 2 months later and having to use a nurse mare for my 1 and now only attempt at breeding.

Eta: horse ran bad. Jock looks like he had to use him coming out of the 12 and still ended up wide. Ran out of horse.
