I go there. It’s not a place for real lifting. It’s a supplement for DDP Yoga at best.

I didn’t realize how bad doing bench press on a rack with those balance bars messed me up until I tried to do real bench again.

But pizza and massage chairs are good.

Dumbbells only go up to 75. No free weights bench press or squat rack, only smith machine. Plenty of other machines and cables. Plenty of cardio equipment. It's not ideal for heavy lifters, but more than adequate for most people. And the price is hard to beat.

Several post say this. That may be a deal breaker. Can only do so many reps and that’s usually my delt press.

I go to PF because it is cheap, and close to my house.

It is a generic gym with nothing special about it. Lots of unathletic fatties at mine.

The pf near me is small, has no barbells, and one smith machine.

I go to club4fitness. It's open 24/7 for premium members, is 3 times larger and has a large free weight and squat rack section. It also has the massage chairs, tanning and child care. Basic is $15, premium is $26 and ultra premium is $36 which just adds free classes.

Are you at a Fitness Project in the Houston area?

Mine in Kingwood just got bought out by PF and apparently they all did. I heard they are keeping the equipment for about a year and I guess slowly phasing it out. I also have a PF membership for when I travel so I’m not tripping too hard unless they remove all the plate loaded stuff. Honestly some are better than others but I have noticed recently that the newer ones tend to have more plate loaded stuff and have even seen power racks in some.

I enjoyed it back in the day. 40 minutes of weights, 30 cardio. Hot chicks, meat heads. Then I went to Orange Theory. Pretty legit if you want high cardio and lots of fat burning. Not worth the money for me and the bride.

The black card members get hydromassage access, some places cryo machines, tanning booths and the beauty angel ( red light therapy). Definitely worth it.

For most people, PF is affordable, convenient, and has all the equipment needed. If you’re a serious weight lifter though, PF is not for you.

Tons

I keep a club4, anytime and planet fitness for lifting because on the road a lot. Hate them all because my local privately owned gym is just great. Great mix of PL and BBs.

If I had to chose between the 3, club4 by far.
