Your lungs may improve.

Depends on age and how well you clean out and whether you stay clean of other burdens.

A very wise old man once told me...

You never truly quit smoking. You just learn how to not smoke.

You'll smoke another in drunken complacency and think it is fricking nasty and quit for good.

^ this is very true. 10 years or so back, I came down with the flu, didn't smoke for almost two weeks, decided I'd just give it up. Well that lasted for over a year, then one weak moment, I ask a co-worker for one cig.. I told myself one cig isn't going to hurt anything, the next thing I know one cig led to smoking a pack and half a day. Been smoking ever since.

You've broken the physical addiction. You're just dealing with the mental one now, and that takes a long time.

Any tips on quitting while take vyvanse everyday?

I take Adderall every week day at work. I chew a lot of gum... so much that my jaw hurts. I'm in an industry where a lot of spur of the moment hiccups ruin your whole day. It's tough.

A lot of my friends are helping me. I have them watching out for me when drinking to make sure I don't slip up lol. I feel like I wouldn't have gone this long without the fear of letting them down.

I am trying to quit, problem is I am one of those the only smokes when i drink. I will not touch one sober and haven't in years. If i smoke one sober i gag and almost throw up everytime. But after about 4-6 beers i start smoking and then smoke like a train and then feel like shite the next day.

I can't seem to kick it when drinking. I know the answer to this is to stop drinking but that's not going to happen.

I smoked for almost 25 years. Smoked my last cigarette the day before my 40th birthday which was 8 months ago. Still get urges but they pass. It's not easy but very doable if that makes sense. Good Luck to you. If I can quit smoking anyone can.

Get your friends on board to help you quit. Whenever you go out ask them (beforehand) to persuade you not to smoke that cigarette later. That's what I did and it worked. They would always be watching so I would feel guilty if I cheated. Then it just stuck and I stopped trying.
