My nephew went through a semi-emo film student stage (not goth-emo) with shoulder length two-tone blonde-brown hair covering one eye, wrist-trinkets/rope & rubber bracelets, tee's & jeans.
8 years later, he's all corporate clean-cut, gel'd back hair, wearing suits, ties & glasses as an uptown restaurant manager.

I tend to do the geographic cure. I just up and move and immerse myself in a new life. I guess that is a form of re-inventing myself or my life. Katrina and recent family deaths have been the biggest prompter on making such moves.
I have my college degree but enjoyed doing different jobs for the experience (roofing, carpentry, Working in an Alaskan cannery, waitressing, etc). they were cool experiences.
Now I am currently working on reinventing myself as an eccentric lil old lady.
