I’m guessing you’re not willing to entertain oil independence considering nearly everything we use requires oil to produce including ev’s. And no old man don’t get credit for anything while using dirty foreign oil

I'm talking the oil companies who are posting record profits.
I see this talking point but no one ever posts the full truth about it.
quote:
Exxon Mobil made $23 billion in profit for 2021. But that came after suffering $22.4 billion in losses the previous year because of the pandemic-fueled economic downturn.
quote:
At the end of 2021, BP, Exxon Mobil, Shell, and Chevron all reported the highest profits they’ve seen since 2014, and every single company attributed those record profits to surging oil prices as post-pandemic demand increased and supply had not yet met that demand.
Their profits were a supply and demand issue. That shortage of supply was created by shutdowns from the stupid arse Biden administration but people like you buy the lies that Biden is feeding everyone blaming high prices on everything on corporate greed and not due to printing money while also artificially creating goods shortages.
Why did every company in every industry all of a sudden get greedy under Biden? Coincidence? Conspiracy? I am all ears for you to explain why.

Why do you think I'm on Biden's side? It's not a black and white situation and I will ask again, with a president that has not been in office long enough for any pipeline to be finished, how is the president controlling gas prices in the present?
If you point to futures, then that would follow under corporate greed. You seem like the type of guy that would get super excited about corporate socialism.

Where are these reserves located? Are they kept in a salt dome somewhere?

I'm the type of guy that would like to see energy companies diversify their portfolio instead of relying mostly on oil. And no, electric vehicles are not the solution either.

You keep bringing up the pipeline like that's all that matters. Off the top of my head he has...
- Introduced new taxes on natural gas used for heating
- Rescinded Endangered Species Act reforms which creates more red tape for oil production
- Abandoned the Willow Project which would have produced 100K barrels of oil per day
- His BBB agenda imposes new taxes on oil
- The day he was sworn in he halted all new oil and gas leases
- Signed a resolution that overturned Trump administration reforms to EPA oil and gas rules which reestablish burdensome regulations
- In November the EPA announced new regulations over methane emissions from oil and gas production
- Made federal leases undesirable due to new regulations
And much more. He has taken many actions that have directly affected gas prices on top of the record-high inflation he has created.
The Keystone is an easy talking point for both sides. Easy to be used to blame Biden and easy used to say it would not have made a difference but the truth is he has caused the higher prices through many actions and inactions. But to see it you would get your head out of your arse and quit regurgitating simpleton talking points.

Where is the stockpile kept?
The oil is kept in deep underground storage caverns created in salt domes at four sites:
· Bayou Choctaw: The Bayou Choctaw storage site is in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, around 12 miles southwest of Baton Rouge. According to the Department of Energy which manages the oil, the site was acquired in April 1977 and became operational in 1987. Bayou Choctaw has six storage caverns, an authorized storage capacity of 76 million barrels and a cavern inventory of 60.1 million barrels.
· Big Hill: The Big Hill storage site is in Jefferson County, Texas, approximately 26 miles southwest of Beaumont, Texas. The site was acquired in November 1982 and July 1983 and became operational in 1991. Big Hill has 14 storage caverns, an authorized storage capacity of 170 million barrels and a cavern inventory of 129.9 million barrels.
· Bryan Mound: The Bryan Mound storage site is in Brazoria County, Texas, 3 miles southwest of Freeport, Texas. The site was acquired in April 1977 and became operational in 1986. Bryan Mound has 19 storage caverns, an authorized storage capacity of 247.1 million barrels and a cavern inventory of 218.2 million barrels.
· West Hackberry: The West Hackberry storage site is in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, approximately 25 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The site was acquired in April 1977 and became operational in 1988. West Hackberry has 21 storage caverns, an authorized storage capacity of 220.4 million barrels and a cavern inventory of 180 million barrels.
