While Saturday in general works fine, it stinks for college football fans. And it also mean possibly less trick or treating for kids since adults are more likely to be out at a football game or watching it.

I think it might also mean less trick or treating for kids since more adults will be at Halloween parties. As it is now a lot of people have adult Halloween parties on the Friday or Saturday night before to allow them to be home passing out candy for trick or treating or trick or treating with their kids on Halloween night.
