Anyone ever had this? Coming up on my 13th anniversary of having it.

My mother in law had it, still has some lingering symptoms. Did all of yours resolve?

Hopefully it’s not as bad as Roseanne-Barr.

Prayers sent.

My Mother had an extremely severe case and never left the hospital.

Glad yours is manageable.

So how many vital capacities and NIFs did you have to do?

Sorry to hear that. I talked to someone the other day whose dad had been paralyzed since 1986 from it.

Thank you. She was diagnosed March 1st, 1989. For a considerable number of months she could only move her eyes and eyelids and we communicated that way. She ended up passing away in November due to a mucus plug blocking her airway.

I misspoke, actually she did leave the hospital and was in a rehab facility when she passed away. But she should not have been there, she was not ready. Or rather they were not ready for someone will the case as severe as hers.

If you’re admitted for it, usually a respiratory therapist will get you to blow into a device called a pneumotachometer which measure lung volumes. If your volumes significantly drop, it could be drastic enough to being intubated and placed on a ventilator.

A NIF, is a negative inspiratory force device. It measures the strength of your diaphragm in which you can take a breath.

Out of curiosity, how old are you?

Were you recovering from a viral infection when you developed GB?

The anchor? Seriously?

There was an serious outbreak of this back when you had it. I knew 3 people who had it. Considering the odds are 1 in 100,000, knowing 3 made me run to buy lottery tickets.

Numbness in her feet. It comes and goes. That's one crazy illness!
