Why do they and so many other similar places use shitty Mahi for their fish sandwiches? I get that it's cheap crap, but it isn't a flaky white fish which is the best for a sandwich. Why not offer the more expensive option?

Thanks for the tips guys. Went to the aquarium this morning and as mentioned it was very nice but small. The kiddo loved it though so money well spent I guess. We then went to the kids museum as suggested and it was a huge hit. Thanks for that recommendation. We ended up eating at White Caps since everyone was starving when we left the museum and that was first place we saw. Not bad. Nice environment and served it's purpose of feeding us in a timely manner. Thanks again for the help baws

Went to this aquarium from seeing this thread. (We were passing through Gulfport)
We loved it. Very nice.

Nothing wrong with White Cap. In various locations, it has been a Gulfport tradition for nearly 100 years.

Where do you get your fish? In no scenario is Mahi a cheap crap fish.

I was thinking the same thing about Mahi. I really like Mahi if prepared correctly but do agree it's probably not the best on a sammich

Felixs is terrible. Many, many better places. Shaggy’s is fun but the food is not great. It’s ok.

It was really nice. Ended up eating at white caps after the children's museum just due to it being right there and everything was good.
