I was told from Tuesday through Saturday that over 45,000 square miles in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas will see a minimum of over 12 to 14 inches of rain and some areas over the 5 day period could potentially see 35 inches.

What kind of ruler are you using? Mine's never longer than 5". I check it pretty often.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday. IDK. It was windy today and that's about it. I thought we were going to have Old Testament style floods. I got my pirogue out and everything. Needless to say I'm disappointed.

I know in 2014 here in Mobile, I had major doubts when they said "once in a 25 year flood event" and good lord was it! 19 inches in 18 hours and Pensacola and Perdido dwarfed us by over 10 inches. I guess a weather nerd on here can explain the overall atmospheric maximum moisture content and let us know the worst case scenario for the region through Saturday.

Be careful what you wish for. I was caught in PA during hurricane Sandy. That's one of the scarier things I've witnessed first hand. Mother nature's raw power claiming what is rightfully hers in one swift moment.
It will sober you up and remind you just how insignificant you really are.

12 inches over two days isn't that much. IIRC, that May '95 flood I was talking about earlier was 20+ inches in two days. I think it all depends on the rate

He said "over a 5 day period". I'm not sure what the length of her period has to do with it but that is how many days he measured it. Now all we need to know is how many times a day he measured it to see how many inches .....

There is water over the road in spots on Louisiana Highway 10 between Oakdale and Leesville. It is still possible for now.
