Why does he think they’re garbage?
I don’t know the specifics other than he’s said to never own one out of warranty. You’ll get about 60k miles before trouble starts. This is a German guy that specializes on them, only works on VW and Honda, nothing else. To be clear, thinks the diesels are fine.

Well, I’m t 128K & did a 8,300 mile road trip this past summer. Great in the mountain curves & cruise at 100 in the middle of nowhere. Not a single issue.
