Good morning, Paige. 
It’s so quiet and peaceful right now. My three children are out navigating their way through the grocery store. Their incentive is gettihg to split any money leftover from the budget.
We eat lots of store brands and meals missing ingredients, but they’re learning a life skill...or at least how to be a tightwad.

That’s the other added benefit—I don’t have to go.
My kids know how to read labels, interact with people at the store who might not be the snuggliest of bears, and explore prices.
My high school age daughter has also learned that she doesn’t need to take the phone number of a 27 year old butcher just because he helped her pick out steaks.

Randy (his skilllet-given name) is pretty good at picking up things for me at the grocery but I’ve never sent him for more than a few common items. Maybe it’s time he learns to do some real shopping. He’s 18 now and will be moving into the dorms this fall
Have you ever had your students use turnitin.com? It gave me a 20%. But it dinged me really bad on one sentence that was mostly common words, and I did cite it

Yes. I’m well aware of turnitin.
20% isn’t panic inducing. Turnitin is highlighting that one sentence as “patch writing,” which is when not enough words are changed to justify it being a paraphrase. You’ll need to rewrite the heck out of that sentence or turn it into a direct quote and cite it or appropriately .

Yeah I’ve had a crappy week. Busy at work, having to take my dad to ER cause he wont stop peeing blood, and on and on. The cherry on top being my upcoming IVF cycle got paused cause some lab work isn’t the level they want. So now I have to go on more fricking meds and wait until levels are ok.
So I’m just feeling blah, angry, depressed, whatever. Don’t feel like being social much this weekend. So I’m just gonna allow myself to say no to a few invites I got this weekend and take some time to allow myself to just rest and be lazy. Maybe I’ll put away some laundry so I feel sorta productive
