My upper eyelid is purple and a little swollen from the inner corner of my eye to about a third of the way in. I was rubbing my eye last night and felt a twinge of pain, so I think maybe that's why I ruptured a vessel. About an hour later, the bruise started forming. This AM the eyelid was swollen and the purple had spread. Now the purple is still there, but I also see yellow around the edges of the purple and think maybe it's starting to heal? My vision was blurry earlier, but it doesn't seem to be so bad anymore, which makes me think the swelling was causing the blurring (since the swelling seems to be going down).

that sounds painful. Mine is less painful, but also less explainable. I'm hoping it's no more than a random blood vessel bursting, but it is definitely a first for me!

Chris, you know this is a perfect example of what drives folks crazy...Clearly, it is, and you can easily look at 7 pages and get the feel of it. She failed to answer you and so you 'pester' about something insignificant. My most recent black eye was from my cat scratching my eyelid. My husband scared her and she flailed on my face.
