I know several grandparents raising their grandkids. They’ve all done a much better job raising them than the did their actual kids. Unfortunately its become the norm but works out 100% better for the kids in nearly all cases. Not aware of any of them being made fun of because of it.

We adopted a beautiful baby girl(AA) when she was 13 days old. She's 7 1/2 now and knows that she's adopted and is thriving.

He should be fine.

I think you are overthinking, but it shows how much thought and care are a great part of your nature. You obviously did a great job in the past, and things will be just fine. And triple bless you for taking on a teenager.

I have no advice, but I sincerely wish you and him the best going forward. I hope he leads a successful life, which will certainly be in part due to you.

God Bless you for stepping up for your Grandson. He is blessed to have you in his life. Unfortunately kids are cruel. Keep communicating with him and let him know everything is on the conversation list.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking this and everything will be fine for him?

Good for you.
It’s really pretty common these days, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
