There are a lot of special astronomical events in July. Early this morning many planets were visible to the naked eye. The picture with the flag is facing south at 2:00 AM, shows Jupiter and Saturn in conjunction with each other and forming a triangle with the moon.

To the east, Mars and Neptune were very easy to see and bright. Mars was a fiery red. Mars is the largest object at the bottom. I took this one around 3:30 AM.

Planets Visible tonight, Jul 6 – Jul 7, 2020
Mercury: From Tue 5:36 am
Venus: From Tue 3:40 am
Mars: From Tue 12:22 am
Jupiter: From Mon 8:29 pm
Saturn: From Mon 8:52 pm
Uranus: From Tue 1:51 am
Neptune: From Mon 11:34 pm

We had friends over for an all day visit for the first time in months. We spent the day swimming and eating.

It almost felt like normal life.

Thanks.

A few months ago Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn were in close proximity to one another. I'll check for Mars tonight.
