He was quite excited to go off the grid. He said he'll likely not speak to another person that entire time and he's excited about that

He'll be fine. He does this every year. He has his gun so he can protect himself against any bears.

I feel bad for Butters though. I can tell he's a little down that his buddy(our other dog) is gone.

Just curious Nurse, why didn’t you go with him?

Several reasons:

1) Couldn't take off the time this week at work. Too much going on this week at work. My husband left Wednesday.

2) Lows in the 30s where he is at. Possibly could even snow there. As much as I love camping, I have no desire to camp in cold weather.

3) He wanted to go by himself. Between all the stress from the IVF stuff and constant drama from my dad and stressful stuff at his work...I think he just needed to get away from it all for a couple days...alone. Haven't you ever gone on a trip by yourself to just get away?

I couldn't do it alone either. I wouldn't be able to sleep cause every noise outside the tent at night would freak me out.

Last time he went camping with his brother in law his brother in law was up before everyone else and saw a bear enter their campsite. He shot off his gun to scare the bear away(didn't shoot at the bear). And that is what my husband woke up to...a gunshot right outside his tent

Not completely by myself for 5 days, plus I have too many responsibilities to go completely off the grid for 5 days.

I’m not hating on him, good for him. I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to do it.

I was just asking why you didn’t join him. Seems like it would be a great bonding trip for the 2 of you. You could both get away go off the grid and relieve some stress.

Hope you have a good weekend and a happy Easter.

His vacation away gives me a vacation at home. I have the house all to myself. Just me and Butters.

Hope you have a great Easter weekend as well.

I’ll try but I know this won’t happen. As soon as I can I’m getting into my flowerbeds.

No family obligations or church is what I meant by not doing a damned thing. Other than flower beds and veggie garden, we are gonna spend some time hanging out on the deck enjoying the weather and watching some MLB w/ some cold beverages.

Sounds ideal.

Enjoy, I’m sure it’s well deserved.
