Dad doing ok?
Not exactly. He’s had some significantly noticeable declines in his overall health since Thanksgiving day actually.
We are hoping to have him in a facility in Jan/Feb.
Honestly, I pray that he would pass peacefully in his sleep rather than the long game with Alzheimer’s. He’s at the point of this disease robbing him of his dignity (incontinence- to the point of requiring him to wear depends 24/7 and other symptoms) and it is heartbreaking to watch.

That’s sad to hear.
Otherwise good morning.

I’m sorry to hear that. One good thing about mom’s death is that she was spared Alzheimer’s. She used to be really scared of it.

Good morning again all!
Nurse, were you able to get your dad into the Veteran's home?
After reading what y'all are going through, my old roommate had it good. BTW, you knew him.
He was living with his daughter in Houston while being treated at MD Anderson. What happened was by the time he was healthy enough for cancer treatment, the cancer had spread beyond his colon and was untreatable. He was sent back to Mer Rouge by air ambulance and placed in a nursing home. Less than three weeks later as I was told, he went to be with Jesus. He was pretty well with it until the last 72 hours or so, but he went comfortably and pain free.

We would’ve been able to have him placed there but he declined bc they didn’t have any female residents.
