Scorpions also freak me out big time as well. Thankfully haven’t had to deal with them much.
Baby sis got stung by one while she was sleeping. She rolled over in her sleep onto it and it stung her. Apparently they were doing a bunch of digging in property next door to them and it disrupted them and one crawled inside a bedroom window she had left open a crack.

Me and Junior1 caught our first ever scorpion last month at the lake house near Yosemite. It was inside under a dog bed

Get a black light flashlight. They glow like crazy under a black light.
