My mom has something called RIS—Radiation Induced Osteosarcoma that she got during her treatment for breast cancer. They’re gonna remove her whole scapula and attach her arm to her collarbone. She did 4 rounds of chemo (hospitalized because she’s getting doxorubicin beyond what someone can get in a lifetime) and then surgery and then looking like 2 more rounds of chemo.

Black is what I would go with.

shiny fabric and the length make me hesitant on green.

My mother of the groom dress was very similar to the blue and I am old so not that one.

How did she do? I haven’t told my mom but survival rate is 70% for regular osteosarcoma but 40% for RIS.

I would like the green even more if the length were slightly above the knee or even tea length. Shiny fabric is a question that can only be answered when tried on under normal lights. The black dress is very pretty and can be accessorized well but has been done hundreds of times since Pretty Woman. 80’s are back in style, though.

Black dress is the safest choice but I love the color and cut of green dress best.

I will say that my annual shopping trip for partner meetings used to be extremely stressful. Finding the perfect dress and outfit combos for each event is time consuming, expensive and stressful when you have to find something within a budget and timeframe.

Dadgum. That’s a lot to deal with. I’m sorry y’all are going through that.

Anything we (the OT) can do for ya? You probably don’t want to post your Venmo, but I’d love to send y’all some cash for a few meals while you’re there.

That’s sweet! Fortunately insurance has covered 100%, even meals. Mom has Medicare, BCBS and a cancer policy that she’s held since she was in her 40’s.

I mainly use yall as a place to share info and vent. It’s really nice to be able to share my fears because I can’t do that IRL except for at work.
