I don't let my wife have my username
She hates that I'm on TD. I tell her it's my escape from her.
She does not like that response...

Not in any house I've ever lived in or my grandparents that was more than one level. But not important.
I rarely buy lottery tickets. I get so convinced that I'm going to win that when I don't I legitimately get sad. Crazy shite.

In all honesty I did get some good news.
Wife got a job finally. She's getting back into the psychology field in Counseling.
Hopefully I can convince her to go for her doctorate so I when I do retire from this military life I ain't gotta do shite again

From an engineering standpoint it's better to have laundry in a basement, however, it's all about the WOMEN.
One thing you learn in residential construction/ home building is that it's all about what the WOMAN wants. They have that nesting instinct.
Dirty clothes are on bedroom floor (usually 2nd), back in the day they'd have laundry chutes, but even then the clothes have to come BACK up stairs.
They don't care if they flood the house. They care that laundry stays upstairs so they don't run up and down stairs with it.
/end rant/

My g'parents had Laundry chutes. But he also built his own homes.
My mom would just do the laundry and then stack it on the pool table until everyone took it to their room. I was the only one with a room downstairs and an exterior door on my room.

are you one of those fancy lads?

Most of the McMansions these days are split about 50/50 I'd say upstairs v. downstairs.
Seriously though, a particular female will much prefer it one way or the other- they won't buy the damn house if they percieve it as the wrong floor. Women are very peculiar about their homes.

My grandfather was a builder, we all were for a few generations.
He used to always refer to "the Bosslady" wants it that way. He would obviously deal with the men- but he'd listen to the woman for the details.
He rarely said Bossman- always "Bosslady."
