When you are 60, like you and have time on your hands, you just don't rush anything anymore.

Really not hard to learn with the tools they have out now. Just maybe they will start teaching wood working classes in school again. Wood working is becoming a lost art. Last few new houses I been thru, I saw crap that would of pissed me off due to the shitty work.

You are so right,Fish, about the tools today. We have all the air tools a man could want. But I still like and use my 20,16 and 13 oz hammers over a nail gun. Very few folks use hammers now.

I agree. It should be an elective and people like you need to teach it. That’s the problem. Not many people left to teach woodwork.

There are a shite load on how to videos out there that can help someone get started. Sure one is going to make mistakes, but one learns from each one over time.

My SIL that is 34 is a Master carpenter. He does outstanding work. He started his own biz just a couple months ago and word spread. Has all the work he can handle due to what people say about his work. He started doing wood work before getting out of HS. He loves his job. Guess he is living his dream doing something for a living and loving it.
