OP, how do you get your serotonin levels that balanced? Asking for a friend who wants to feel again.

Shame on all y'all.

TideTables is great as is Starfish Grill. Both are right at the Cortez (684) right at Anna Maria Island.

Sorry for the late response...

Thanks Lanier Spot, we’re hanging at Jewfish Island sandbar with what may be 100 other boats.

Yea, that is a good place. That is the pass that I use to head off shore a lot. We have been to that sandbar a dozen times or so but to be honest, its not one of my favorites. There are a couple more close to there that are unreal.

I have been to about 20 different sand bar areas in the Tampa to Venice area and there is one clear winner. There is no place in the gulf like Passage Key. As long as the wind is not 15-20 out of the west. It has its stigma but there is just no place like it for water clarity, clean sand and entertainment.

It is the epitone of Sandbars. The hurricanes last year destroyed the small island that was there and the sea grass that was on top of it but the sand bar there is still amazing and it has expanded. There are two seperate areas now and it is huge. The island is starting to come back as the current there is helping that.

And Yes, it has a "clothing optional" area but its no issue. Those folk stay in one small area and dont bother anyone. The rest of that place is absolutely amazing. I was there last Sunday and there was probably 1000 boats there. It was a damn huge party.

Thanks for the insight. I’m a slow “furniture barge” cat motor sailor. Motoring at 5 kts top in calm water. 190km is a 38 hr trip w/flat-seas and no wind. Wind is solid from the west and I don’t want to tack my way home. I can’t point closer than 45deg. She’s a downwind girl. we’ll wait for a weather
Window.

yea, im not a sailor so most of that does not make a lot of sense.

Power Driven boater here. I learned somethings about them when I got my USCG Captains license but Im clueless on sailing for the most part.

Glad you enjoyed jewfish. Nice place and some good food places close. I am about to trade my 25 foot bay for a 29 with twin engines. When that happens, I will be making the crossing to Bimini and taking the boat from Sarasota to the keys. I just cant wait to have that little bigger tub and a extra engine to make those trips. Ive taken my boat down to Marco Island a few times and stayed a few days then come back. Great trips....
