Very common. My grandmother used to store bacon grease in Mason jars to reuse to cook with especially gumbo

when I first got there I rented a place in One East Schiller, it was pretty cool but it was a bit confining for a Louisiana baw who's used o being able to get in his whip and go, everything was pedestrian or public transportation, having a car downtown was almost a liability
