Or if you are worth more instead of looking for another job, negotiate though the union for more pay. Go on strike if you have to in order to extract a as high of pay that you can get out of the company. Force them though your negotiating team, the union, to get a better contract. The union is the negotiator for the workers. Just like Mahomes has an agent, the union acts as the workers agent. I dont see anything wrong with that

all the union does is raise the floor for the bottom tier worker while holding the pay for the top tier workers back.

If they called it the auto workers association instead of union they wouldnt get as much push back. They have as much right to negotiate the best way they can to get the most beneficial deal as anyone else. Same way the CEO of the company does.
