I've had a similar problem and solved it by spraying Bengal at their points of entry.

Leave a pile of cocaine where they are. Just to see what the frick happens if for no other reason.

Don't spray them with anything. Use terro gel. They will be gone in 2 days.

THIS! I re-caulked and sprayed under the counter by the sink. No more sugar ants.
