I can captain a boat and I can for sure do a Jeep guide. Skiing has dinged the ligaments in my knees so I'll pass on that hiking gig. What level rapids you running there?

Class II and III at normal levels. Can pop up to IV when the river is high (like today)
Normally it's more of a float than whitewater trip, but that varies with water levels. It's a glacial river, and glacial outburst floods happen periodically.

I'm comfortable with II and III since that is what we typically navigate in Glenwood Canyon. I've surfed II's and II's in a kayak plenty of times. Shoshone can get pretty nasty and mess you up in a hurry. Probably the worst part of the run is the surf wave at the West Glenwood exit. That thing will suck your raft in so fast if you don't have at least 2 strong paddlers on each side.
Just put me in a Jeep with a first aid kit, warm clothes, non-perishable food, water and survival gear and I'll run any trail you want to take customers on.

We have three Jeep tours. One goes on the Stampede Trail where Chris McCandless spent his last days, near Denali.
None in Juneau though. Mainly rafting, kayak, canoe, whale watching here.
Southeast is the best part of Ak IMO. You have the coast and mountains, glaciers, wildlife, etc.

When we were in our late teens/early to mid 20's, there was the great alternative music explosion of the 90's. But yet our generation still listened to "old people" music. And we respected it. Back then it was 50's and 60's music. You were just as likely to have a Zeppelin CD in the player as you were a Nirvana or Soundgarden CD.
Not so with the generation today. It's like they're jealous of what happened in generations prior to them, so they either slam it or ignore any music that didn't come out in the last ten years.
I don't get it.
