re: Galvez Middle School Teacher Arrested for Rape (Under 13)

APSO arrest teacher’s aide during investigation into sexual incident involving juveniles.

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, on Monday March 7, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Heather French, 34, of Prairieville. She is charged with two counts of pornography involving juveniles and two-counts of video voyeurism.

On February 24, Detectives with APSO’s Juvenile Division received information from Gonzales Police Department that French had exchanged pictures and text messages containing lewd comments regarding two students from Galvez Middle School. Upon further investigation, detectives located child pornography from a separate incident not involving any students from Galvez Middle School on French’s cell phone. French was previously arrested by Gonzales Police and charged with two-counts of failure to report and two-counts of accessory after the fact, in addition to new charges with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, additional information about this case is limited since juveniles are involved. The parents of both students have been notified. Detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office are working closely with the Gonzales Police Department and Galvez Middle School during this investigation.
