Frontier to Denver? No way.
Frontier from Denver? Yes.
Denver is their hub and they are well-staffed, and I had a decent experience.
I flew from BNA on Frontier to get there and it was an absolute shite show.

I fly frontier monthly from Denver to Washington DC.
Pay a little extra for the seats at the front, but not the front row. There is no place to store your bags if you sit in the front row and it is a huge pain in the arse. I always aim for 2-4.
Its not the best airline but it gets me from A to B on time.

I have flown Frontier quite a few times and have had a great experience with them every single time.

I flown them a few times. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's a flight and it is like taking a bus nowadays. There is no glamour to domestic air travel.

I fly Frontier to Denver all the time out of MSY and I have zero complaints. Well, I take that back... the only issue I have is they typically only have one flight available, but usually it's much cheaper than the competition. They've also been very accommodating trying to seat family members together when you're unable to do so online.

We flew from MSY to DEN round trip with no issues at all. Even with paying for a bag for each of us & paying so we could choose our seats, it still came out about $150 cheaper per ticket than fares from the other airlines. It was also the only non-stop flight offered, and that was a plus when traveling with kids.
BUT I did worry that something would go wrong and our flight would get delayed or cancelled (neither flight did). From what I have heard, there is only one flight per day that flies that route, so "catching the next flight" isn't exactly an easy option. I don't think they'll put you on another airline either. Not sure what happens if a flight is completely cancelled (not just delayed), as it seems like they wouldn't be able to bump the passengers reserved for the next day's flight.
If you do decide to fly Frontier, I'd recommend purchasing the tickets from their website (not one like Travelocity), as I've heard it's easier to pay for baggage & seat choices through their own website. That's what I did and I found it really easy to make those additions. And make sure you read the fine print on when the price of different things goes up (like bag fees) so you don't get nailed with higher fees.
Overall, if you're aware that their a no-frills airline and that there are extra fees involved, it really isn't a bad deal at all IMO. I would definitely consider flying with them again.
