Miller and the rest of those right by the lakes are old and rundown ( my oldest was going to live in Miller).
Laville ( honors dorm ) is nice and right in the middle of campus. I am not very familiar with the dorms on the north end of campus, but I think they just re-modeled one of them. They are currently remodeling the French house ( this one is right next to Leville)

LSU is proud of their dorms and you must buy a meal plan with the dorm, but my oldest says the food is good at the 459 (she will eat just about anything)

I have not worried about her unless she comes home on a sunday and has to park in the back 40 when she goes back to school (parking sucks). She is not very aware of her surroundings, so it makes me a little nervous, but her boyfriend is usually with her

Obviously older. Maybe less hair.
With that kinda response, the OT was the obvious choice for your question.

Engineering dorm is for freshmen only. It is one of the newer dorms. My daughter was there her freshman year, which was great and then moved off campus with a couple of her friends. LSU has a great program. She and one of her suite mates, a ChemE are still good friends. Best of luck.

Definitely Miller dorms if she is looking to get into a sorority, if not, they do have dorms that are specific for your major. She can look into those. Stay away from Herget or the Pentagon (old and full of frat boys).

The ERC is new and she would be with all freshman engineers. But it is on the north side of campus and I would not want a daughter on that side. IF she will pledge a sorority then Miller is the dorm most of the sorority girls stay in. It's to the south east side of campus close to sorority row. If you go off campus, stay on south side not north. You could also go with Herget which is next to miller.
