Here's the thing: the westboro people find everything self-validating. If you let them be, they feel self-validated. If you counter-protest them, they feel self-validated.
If they can't be undone by anything, then why not just have fun with it? Making them out to be a joke makes their unfortunate presence and existence a little more tolerable.

Not sure what they were protesting but there was a lot of people.
Grohl and a truckbed full of people come by blaring Rick Astley with signs saying "You got Rick Rolled" everyone cheers and there's someone with a 80s rainbow speedo on dancing and the whole crew is just being stupid.

Would have been great if he would have mentioned that he despises them, and asked them to stop listening to his music, buying his albums, and attending his shows. Those people are disgusting.
