Only they had no idea where the damn ambulance was. How do you know it would have been 5 minutes? You don't.

FTR it was 13 minutes from the time they loaded her at the scene until she was laying on the table at the hospital. It could have taken 13 minutes for the ambulance to arrive.

9 Miles at Code 3, highly doubt it take long let alone 13minutes.

Child had airway compromise as shown by her turning blue. So instead of giving rescue breaths until EMS arrives so then they can secure airway and give her Ativan for the seizure, he loades her in truck and leaves. While in the truck no one is supplying ventilation support other than passive O2 and running the risk causing more harm and possibly having another seizure.

This would be my concern as well. If he's driving her by himself.....who is maintaining the child's airway? Someone needs to be actively bagging that child to give them oxygen if they are seizing or just had a seizure and looking cyanotic.

Like you said....thankfully it worked out though and the child is ok.

Eta: just read article and it implies there were 2 firefighters on the scene and so someone else was driving while he gave the child oxygen during the ride to the hospital.

It's all about liability in today's society. Everybody is afraid of getting sued.
