Not worth the $75. New plates won't help either if they have your VIN tied to your old plate.
Chances are that you actually were doing 26, btw. 20mph limits are generally pretty fricked up, but it is what it is. Pay the $75 and move on with life.
You can fight a ticket, btw, but you pretty much have to prove the cop is incorrect about something that actually matters to the case. That should lead to a "not guilty" result. Anything else probably won't.

Don't pay it.. They'll send you a bunch of threatening literature but will eventually stop. It doesn't go against your record or insurance
