Field or CAT adjuster info?

My son just isn't going to succeed at college. That's fine, I didn't think it was for him anyway. He's interested in becoming a field or catastrophic adjuster for insurance companies. I casually know a couple guys who do that and make good money, and it seems like a nice career for a young man without a wife and kids (travel a bit, work in different places for a while, make good money).
Anyone willing to give a little advice or input on this thought process? Thanks in advance.
