I know msm types don’t like how they get labeled “ fake news” but have y’all see their advertising online??

***discover the secret to lose weight that Drs won’t tell you***

*** learn this trick to lower your insurance premiums***

Etc etc etc

It’s really annoying when the fake ads are embedded in the news articles …come on editors-

Disclaimer: I am a Boomer and I like to read the daily newspaper with my coffee in the morning - the actual, delivered newspaper.
There are sections of "sponsored content" ads that look much like actual sections of news stories - not exactly, but close. The publishers think we're stupid.

They probably have little control over who ads are popping up. The ads you receive is targeting you.

For example, with google, if I want to create an ad I pay google and the cost depends on where you want to advertise. if you want it to target locally you can have it target people within a certain radius. And there are other criteria. You can target people within a certain age range, you can just females or just males, etc. So if you fit into a certain criteria, the website itself has little to do with what ad it shows, it just receives a cut of the money you paid to advertise.

This is why I search lingerie or swimsuit companies on the reg. My pop up ads on the side and bottom targeting me are hot chicks wearing not many clothes.
