If you are simply looking to get an eye exam b/c you are having trouble seeing up close, due to your age, you would really be better off going to an optometrist. Pretty much all MD delegate retractions to their techs. Even Dr Woo delegates retractions. They will come in and give it a quick check, but they aren't going to spend a lot of time figuring out your refraction.

Optometrists can do surgery now.

Any Wal-Mart eye center and you shoul be good.
