I don't see it as that crazy. We already have drones that are flown by humans, but its not crazy to think someone is working on an algorithm that could fly better than a human and scan for targets just as accurately. Military already uses robotic mules to carry supplies. I could see a robot being made to drop into hot zones before putting soldiers on the ground. First killing robots will probably make a lot of sense when they are created.

The thing is though, robots and machines are completely dependent on humanity for survival and growth, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Has a robot ever built anything on it's own yet without any human support? Has a machine ever solely built a house? Has it upgraded its hardware on its own? Are all machines capable of being fixed solely by machines? No. Until Technological Singularity, machines wouldn't even consider it. They would be dooming themselves, and we're a long way off from machines being as intelligent as even fish, nevertheless humans. If the machines unleash the nukes, then machines wouldn't last a century and go extinct as well lacking creative thoughts and means to fix themselves.

Crime-Fighting Robots Go On Patrol In Silicon Valley

MOUNTAIN VIEW (KPIX 5) – A new kind of security guard is on patrol in Silicon Valley: crime-fighting robots that look like they’re straight out of a sci-fi movie.
At first glance, the K5 security robot looks like a cartoonish Star Wars character.
“The vast majority of people see it and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s so cute.’ We’ve had people go up and hug it, and embrace it for whatever reason,” said Stacy Stephens, co-founder of Knightscope, headquartered in Mountain View.
They are unarmed, but they are imposing: about 5 feet tall and 300 pounds, which very likely will make someone think twice before committing a crime in their presence.

There will be no need for houses after the robots kill us. So why would they waste their time building something they will never use?
