Interesting read here. TL;DR, he believed in a higher power of some kind, but not an anthropomorphic God of the Bible. LINK

He was a jew that fled Germany, getting him to endorse anything Biblical would be a stretch

There’s no contradiction between physics and a “God” of some sort. Yet both scientists and religious people often get that wrong.
