I'm on I 55 north, driving to Monroe. Should I stay on 55 all the way to Jackson ( I 20 )or is there a better route?

Just prepare for speed traps.

I rather 20 to 55 to avoid some of that chaos.

You could

or take Utica short cut

saves you around 15-30 mins depending on traffic

This. Much faster because there is no one on the road and the hills let you spot the cops ahead of time. Nice little drive too.

Take 55 to Crystal Springs to Hwy 27 that puts you in Vicksburg, then take I-20 West into the Mecca. There is too much road construction on 55 getting into Jackson.

I take this route every time I go back home. It took me 3:35 to get from Monroe to Madisonville this past Sunday.
