private companies can tell you that they don't want it in your system while on the clock. they are well within their rights to do so.

They better figure out a way to test exactly how long ago I smoked. Drug testing is unconstitutional as it is.

But the argument with MJ testing is that the effects only last a few hours, but the metabolites can last weeks.

It's like saying that even though you drank on a Friday night and some of that alcohol converted to sugar and then fat... on Monday you still have that fat in your system and can be fired.

The current MJ testing is ridiculous, especially

Whether or not your ability to do work is affected is subjective. Hence the need for a cut and dry limit that applies to the lowest common denominator. Maybe it’s too low or too high. I don’t know, but I do know that you need to have a completely objective way to measure this.

Pro mj people don't want to accept the facts, but this is 100% true in every situation I've seen.

The link you posted claims cannibis use increases the chances of being in a fatal traffic accident by 80%.

I'm not one expert and I don't work for the NTSB but come on man

Increased marijuana use, especially in states where it’s legalized, can lead to more dangers on the road. Research done by Columbia University revealed that marijuana alone increased the likelihood of being involved in a fatal crash by 80 percent

Let's just be honest about what drug testing protocol does for an employer. They are not testing people everyday even though alcohol testing is inexpensive so we know it's not about safety at the workplace. The only reason drug testing exists is to cover their arse if someone has an accident.

Firing someone on Monday morning for a joint they smoked on Friday night is not protecting anyone from anything.
