if your employer is in fact providing secure parking, then yes, the employer is definitely liable

Yeah, me trying to find some facts is exactly what's wrong with this country. Not the pants-sagging democrat that busted up my son's truck trying to take what my son earned because he's not getting a job anytime soon.
Why don't you go frick yourself and try not to die in a fiery car crash on the way home you internet bad arse.
No, you're clearly trying to get the employer to pay for something they didn't cause.
Also, it sounds like you already know who did it with your description, so get them arrested. Or your projecting some nonsense assuming that's who attempted to rob him.
Your son probably has pills I. The car and someone knew about it and tried to get in to get them. (See how stupid a random stereotype is).

The employer could be liable... However, most employer's insurance policy would have an exclusion that would not cover this. Like others have said, if your employer is in fact providing secure parking, then yes, the employer is definitely liable and either them or the 3rd party security company will have to pay out for the claim. If they aren't, then they could still be liable since the theft happened on premises.
This is still wrong

IF, there is a gate and a security guard they may be responsible.
I say this because on two refinery job sites vehicles where broken into. One claimed it was their property but we parked outside of the fenced in security area,"Park at Your own Risk" Then later they fired employees for having guns in their vehicles. Lawsuits followed. Anyway now we can have guns as long as they are locked-up on property.
The other paid for our property damage to vehicles. They may not have had to but did.

My truck was broken into at my workplace parking lot in day light hours. Stereo, CD's stolen, was just ripped out. Total damage was $1750 including having to replace dash. Operation Manager didn't even offer. Someone backed into one of the secretaries' van busting both taillights. Operation Manager had the maintenance guy order the parts and then change them when they came in. No insurance claim filed. It's not who you know, it's . . . .
