Last underbooked flight I took was a 737-200 combi aircraft. Half freight and half passengers. Did the milk run, which wasn't popular at the time.

If I didn’t want to sit next to them, I wouldn’t have invited them on my jet.

I fly about once a month out of NOLA. About 50% of my flights are totally full, 40% are not totally full so if you're lucky you might get an empty middle seat, and maybe 20% are the magical ones where you should definitely end up with the middle seat open, and possibly an entire row.
