Grew up in the suburbs (Chicago). The early childhood and pre-teen years were pretty good in the burbs, enjoyed having a yard to play and school was big enough to have plenty of friends.
For my high school years, I would have rather lived in the country, city, or beach (don't care which one, just somewhere with an identity). Suburban life is pretty bland as a teen.
Your friend's lived far enough apart that you had to drive to see them but the houses were too close together to throw a party.
The suburbs have the right combination of no public transportation, no taxi service, and plenty of cops ... it's kind of like Baton Rouge pre-Uber.
We could have picked up other activities, but there's also a lack of 4-wheeling, fishing, shooting (did go hunting in the little forest preserve by our house, had the guns stashed in a golf bag - got caught, that didn't go well for me).

No, I had too much fun and made too many friends that I still hang out with every weekend. Can't imagine growing up anywhere else.

No baw. I love Louisiana and our loose creel limits on fish.

Somewhat... I just wish Louisiana had a Ski Resort and I would have been set. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home, I just wish my home had a mountain haha.
