I have Social Anxiety Disorder, thus an irrational phobia about talking on the telephone. Texting would have been life changing when I was growing up. Until texting became really mainstream with iphones and the like (and not just a kid thing), I never kept my flip phone on. I had it in my car in case I broke down on side of the road, or took it with me in my boat for the same reason. Keeping it on otherwise would mean I’d have to answer it.
So yeah, texting is far superior to talking.
