My wife was just saying yesterday "kids are soft these days, can't go to school because it's raining. What's next, can't work because it's hot outside?"

Heck, I coach football and we have to keep a weather meter that tracks how close a lightening strike was. Anything with 6 miles of the meter and we have to go inside. We can't go back out to practice until 30 minutes has lapsed without lightening detected by the meter.

plenty of companies require this with their field workers as well

I remember being sent home early from brother martin around 97 for really cold weather where everyone was convinced snow was imminent and flooding one time. Pretty sure all the Catholic schools shut down for the day because we gave my friends girlfriend a ride home too. Problem was the entire city also got let out early and it took about 4 hours to get back to the west bank

Not sure about down near yall but around here they can do there classes online for closures. Since they can do that, they are more precautions about weather and potential situations

My yard floods and my driveway was under several feet of water. My son doesn't melt when he gets wet.

Im not complaining. He is in school right now.
